Contract with iWeb

Just decided to give you guys a quick update and some good news. We finished transferring the whole SmartHide project and all its web components to a new powerful server located in one of the most advanced and high-tech IDCs around. The name of the company we put our trust in is iWeb Technologies. These guys are on the market since 1996. Today iWeb is one of the largest web hosts and Internet hosting infrastructures provider in Canada. iWeb’s operations centres shelter a total of more than 59 000 square feet of latest generation data center and office floor space in Montreal.

datacenters1
So like a week ago we signed contracts with them and we got our brand new server with the following specs:
  • Core2 Quad 2.4GHz
  • 2GB RAM
  • 320GB SATA2
  • Enterprise Linux – CentOS – 64 bits
  • 100 Mbps port speed.

What does it mean for you?

Well, since our latest decisions and reorganizations in our company we decided to move away from the old servers we used for our web projects including Smarthide.com. Those servers were set up in early 2003 when we just started our work. Those had pretty old config and the Datacenter we had was obviously not the best choice quality and speed wise. We had some downtimes, lags, internet channel problems and overall quality of our Web components did not meet our needs when it came to the decision to evolve SmartHide Project to the Top.

So a week of work for our admins and here we go – our current Web components installed on a brand new server, hopefully loading for you at super high speeds:

If you notice any problems or bugs surfing around our resources - please DO let our admin know about them at his email ;)

Going back to work. Talk to you later, guys.

v. 2.x Free accounts closure

Today we decided to close free accounts for v. 2.x. Actually we planned to close them much earlier, but we always postponed this moment due to numerous requests from free account owners ;)

picture-7This message is hanging there for ages. But the time has come. We realized that trial model in Arovax SmartHide v.2.x did not justify itself, so in the brand new concept of SmartHide v.3.x we will implement another type of free trial usage of Arovax SmartHide.

Whatever happens will turn out to be for the better in the end

The story of Arovax Company

I realize that you haven’t heard any news from Arovax Team for a long time, so this time I would like to give you a short but honest overview of where we stand and where we go.

As some of you probably know, Arovax Company is a small friendly company of people, devoted to the mission of making internet experience of each and every World Wide Web user more safe and secure. Back in 2004 we created a number of projects, each covering it’s own field of the Web security. Pretty much all of them were freeware, so we’ve invested a lot of time, efforts and money developing those, trying to make the web safer for a common internet user.

Unfortunately the lack of resources and the recent global recession did not let us finalize our plans so I have to officially announce that for the current moment Arovax Company stops the further development and support of the following projects:

Arovax Shield (http://www.arovaxshield.com)
Arovax AntiSpyware (http://www.arovaxantispyware.com)
Arovax TraySafe (http://www.traysafe.com)
Arovax NoSpam (http://www.arovaxnospam.com)
Old Arovax Forum (http://forum.arovax.com)

Luckily, despite of the hard times, we realized, that every end is a new beginning and whatever happens turns out to be for the better in the end.

This time our small Arovax Team re-grouped, united and we are putting all our efforts together to provide you with the most unique, powerful and at the same time extremely user-friendly solution delivering you the most secure and safe way to surf the Web - Arovax SmartHide

New generation of Arovax SmartHide – version 3.x is coming, so we have a long way to go, and I will be right here informing you, our faithful users, about every single step we make on this way.

So let’s take a deep breath and remember – whatever happens is for the best. Arovax Team is now focused solely on Arovax SmartHide development in order to deliver you the next generation security and privacy software available and that is a good sign.

Standby for the news from SmartHide Dev Team and become the part of our new
Arovax SmartHide Community!

My name is Daniel Nowak. My short name is Danny.  I am a Project Manager of Arovax SmartHide - a unique and successful security project created by Arovax Company. Let me welcome you on this brand new Arovax SmartHide Blog.

Why did I create this blog?

Well, I see two answers:

  1. I realize how important it is to keep a constant contact with our community, our users, our friends and our clients.
  2. I find it very interesting to walk through this long and hard way together with you guys, side by side, delivering Arovax SmartHide to the throne of the world’s №1 software solution aimed to secure your life in the Internet and to protect your identity while working or having fun in the World Wide Web. And when we get there – it will be fun to take a look at these very first posts in this blog ;)

Summing it up –  I will do my best to become your  ”eyes and ears” inside the SmartHide Dev. Team. Please add this page to your bookmarks as I will try to post here on a daily basis, even if it’s just a story with the “What a hard day it was…” subject or an advice to take a look at a new movie SmartHide Dev. Team watched and enjoyed in the office after a busy working day.

So buckle up guys and Welcome on board the Arovax SmartHide Community!

Thank you for staying with us!

Sincerely yours,
Daniel Nowak
